Asian Absolute helped FTChinese.com in the challenging task of building a world-class translation service. They provide top quality, personal service.
I was extremely impressed by Asian Absolute’s hard work to complete the project to our high standards and within a very tight timeframe.
Many thanks for your help and also for providing an interpreter for the week, she was absolutely fantastic and a real life-saver!
Guinness World Records
No matter whether you need professional assistance for a single project, or are going to be needing expert transcribers on an ongoing basis, we provide the scope of service you need.
You’ll always get your project paired with a professional who has in-depth knowledge or qualifications in your field if necessary (as is often the case for medical and legal transcription). Your expert will always be a native speaker of the language they’ll be working in.
Quality assurance and security
Your project will always be reviewed by at least one experienced Quality Assurance specialist before being sent to you. This double layer of quality control – with a third layer added when required – ensures that you always receive transcripts which are entirely accurate and fit for task.
Rest assured that your content remains secure thanks to our double layer of information security:
- Locked-down working environments, making it impossible for your linguist to upload or copy your audio/video file, or the transcript
- Non-Disclosure Agreements signed by each member of our pre-screened team well before working on your project.
Audio visual transcription services for all projects
The projects our clients have already used us for have included:
Legal transcription services for professionals and court reporting agencies
Transcribing webinars and podcasts
Speeches, sermons, seminars and other public speaking events

Transcribing one-on-one or multi-person interviews
Once your transcriber has finished their work, you can then count on us for translation or localisation into any language you have in mind.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does transcription take?
A rough estimate of the time the transcription process will take is three to five times the length of your audio file.
However, this rough estimate can be affected by many factors relating to the quality and complexity of the recording, including:
- How many speakers there are (more than two speakers is exponentially more challenging)
- How fast and how clearly the speakers talk
- Strong accents or multiple languages being spoken
- The quality of your audio recording
- Whether or not you have included timestamps and, if so, how many
These levels of complexity – exacerbated by the type of transcription which you require – is the reason why transcribers charge per minute of audio.
The degree of technical content will also often play a role in how long a transcript will take to produce. Luckily, Asian Absolute’s insistence on only ever using specialist transcribers with experience and/or qualifications in your field eliminates this as an issue.
Why do transcribers charge per minute of audio?
As implied by the list of factors above, the amount of time which the transcription process takes varies wildly. It’s not always possible to judge by industry or type of project, each recording is unique.
That’s why most transcribers charge by the audio minute. By providing as much information as you can regarding the type of transcription you want, the number of speakers in your recording and so on, you’ll make it possible for your transcription agency to give you a clear and accurate quote.
Is machine transcription an option?
Asian Absolute is at the forefront of the translation and localisation industry when it comes to Machine Translation.
However, we don’t recommend machine transcription for any but the clearest, simplest, single-speaker audio files.
Even the latest generation of machines cannot understand context, acronyms, slang or technical terminology and are often thrown off by even small amounts of background noise.
Only a human can effectively and efficiently isolate what is being said by whom and then put in the extra research to confirm context and technical content.
